In our Christian walk, it's most likely that you'll come across a controversial post or a tweet on spiritual gifts; who should have them, and how it is supposed to be used.
Today we would discuss Spiritual gifts and what it entails based on what the Bible says through the help of the Holy Spirit.

To begin, it is not the will of God that we are ignorant about spiritual gifts.
“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:”
1 Corinthians 12:1 NKJV
It pleases God that His children understand the gifts that He has made available to us and walk in that understanding.
So, what are Spiritual gifts?
Spiritual gifts are given to us by the Holy Spirit. As the name implies, it is a “gift” and not a reward given to us after we do good deeds, it is only by the help Holy Spirit in us that we exercise these gifts properly.
1 Corinthians 12:4 tells us that there are a variety of gifts in the body of Christ. It also highlights that regardless of this variety, it is the same Holy Spirit that gives them.
“There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.”
I Corinthians 12:4 NKJV
“But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
I Corinthians 12:11 NKJV
Alll men can operate in all spiritual gifts, and God has given all of us to dispense as the needs arise
There are a variety of spiritual gifts, however these gifts are used for a common goal: the edification of the Church! “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:” I Corinthians 12:7 NKJV
Each gift plays a vital part in this edification. No gift is useless and none is more important than the other. Every gift works hand in hand to ensure that the Church is being built up.
Let’s take a look 1st Corinthians 12:7-11
“7. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:
8. for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit,
9. to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit,
10. to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
11. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.”
I Corinthians 12:7-11 NKJV
Here we see most of the spiritual gifts outlined, however there are many more spiritual gifts revealed through our scriptures.
Of all the gifts we see in the above scripture, only one directly impacts the bearer of said gift and that is the gift of tongues. It's how we build ourselves up as believers.
“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,”
Jude 1:20 NKJV
A common misconception is that we each have specific spiritual gifts and can’t have all but remember God is the giver of gifts we’re merely vessels.
I want you to always remember that the same way the Holy Spirit dwells in all who believe in God, is the same way all spiritual gifts have been given to all believers.
Since it’s the Holy Spirit that gives us these gifts, it means that every believer has recieved the spiritual gifts to be used for the edification of the Church!
All men can operate in all spiritual gifts, and God has given all of us to dispense as the needs arise.
