Life and truth

The Bible has been known as the book of truth and life for many generations. Some people say the Bible is reliable and trustworthy, while others say it is a book of direction and purpose. The Bible is everything listed above; it is a recipe book for the life of a believer and a book of wisdom. It is in fact a book of antiquity, a book of history.

It is known as the canon, which means measuring rod, which implies that it is the standard of the life of a believer.

But let's go to the facts of what the Bible is.

The Bible is the sacred text of Judaism and Christianity. which consists of the Old and New Testaments.

The Jews divided their scriptures into 3 parts:

(The Torah, which contains the law of Moses and how Israel became a nation and possessed the promised land; the Nevim, which contains the messages of the prophets to the people and continues the story of Israel in the promised land; and Ketuvim, which is writing or poetry). which makes up the Old Testament.

The New Testament consists of 27 books that were originally written in Greek by 16 authors, and some of the authors of the New Testament are Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Peter, James, Jude, and Paul.

And these 27 books are grouped into four categories: the gospels, acts of the apostles, epistles, and the second coming.

What is in the Bible?

The old and new testaments are a compilation that includes instructions, stories, poetry, and prophecies, among other genres, that were originally written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. It is a library of books that emerged from the history of the Israelites.

Can I trust what is in the Bible?

Well, yes, you can. But I know your next question is why. I mean, if I say you can trust the Bible, then there should be some explainable reason why.

As Christians, we have been made to believe, in a subtle way, that no questions are allowed. There is no room to voice our doubts and questions, and we grow up not being able to defend (for lack of a better word) the Bible that we believe in. And I believe at a certain point most of us have asked how true this Bible is. It is important to know for ourselves why we value the Bible. Today, people twist and turn the Bible, dissecting it to prove that the word of God cannot be trusted.

The Bible is such an influential book that explores the questions of human existence, how we came to be, and our progression over the years through the story of the Israelites.

It is a collection of real-life events that leads us to Jesus; there is profound wisdom and knowledge for us in today's world.

2 Timothy 3:16 The Passion translation says

Every Scripture has been inspired by the Holy Spirit, the breath of God. It will empower you with its instruction and correction, giving you the strength to take the right direction and lead you deeper into the path of godliness.

The first thing we ought to know is that we can trust the Bible because it was inspired by the holy spirit—not man but by the breath of God himself. God used man to write, but he inspired the men who wrote and the words used. And the truth of this fact is that the Bible has been tested and proven through the years.

In Isaiah 45:1, the prophet prophesied that Cyrus was going to rise as a king and conquer Babylon for the sake of Israel's freedom. Two hundred years later, that prophecy came to pass, as did so many other prophecies, like the birth of Jesus.

This proves that the Bible is not a book filled with myths and children's tales. But truly inspired is the one who knows the end from the beginning. It is a very consistent and honest book.

The Bible has been able to outlive its critics and even influence life as we know it. which is a very valid reason to trust this book. It empowers you, instructs you, and corrects you.

This book instructs us on how we should live our lives for God and the fulfillment of his purpose for our lives.

Joshua 1:8 New Living Translation

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

Who else can I get directions and leadership from? if not the God who has accurately predicted future events and happenings with proof of this thing coming to pass.

The Bible corrects us when we end up not following those instructions. The Bible equips us to be all that God wills us to be. It is a book filled with never-aging wisdom that applies to every area of our lives here on earth, and we see it daily.

The Bible transforms and nourishes the soul. You begin to change from the inside out. as you study the word. And it starts to empower you over sin because what you study begins to show forth in your life.

The Bible says that we are to grow in righteousness and wisdom in this world. The Bible is our blueprint for building a perfect life in Christ Jesus.
